We offer guided equestrian horseback Trail rides as well as E-Bike rentals in Ocala Florida along the Cross Florida Greenway’s shaded trails, including rides along the Landbridge starting from the Landbridge Trailhead. Portions of all proceeds goes back to the Florida Parks Cross Florida Greenway and to the upkeep of the Greenway Trails

The Cross Florida Greenway’s Landbridge Trailhead is the primary trailhead developed and located to provide access to the “First of Its Kind in the U.S.” I-75 Landbridge. The structure, which is 52 feet wide by 200 feet long, follows a natural ridge over 100 feet in elevation to minimize ecological damage. The planters on both sides of the bridge are vegetated with plants native to the surrounding area. The walls were built from local fieldstone.

Located on the bridge, wildlife cameras–monitored by Greenway staff–have captured photos of numerous crossings of the bridge by bobcats, coyote, wild turkey and even Florida black bears.

The trailhead is located approximately 1.4 miles east of the Landbridge off of County Road 475A and is accessible from I-75 from the County Road 484 exit. Facilities include restrooms with potable water, a beautiful shaded picnic area along with equine, hiking and natural surface bike trails. The landbridge trailhead is just 1 of 40 trailheads a part Marjorie Harris Carr Cross Florida Greenway.

Crossing Central Florida from the Gulf of Mexico to the St. Johns River is the Marjorie Harris Carr Cross Florida Greenway which occupies much of the land formerly known as the Cross Florida Ship and later Barge Canal projects. A series of historic events transformed this corridor from one of the nation’s largest uncompleted public works project to a world class greenway.

Today, this 110-mile corridor encompasses diverse natural habitats for observing Florida’s native flora and fauna and offers a wide variety of trails and recreation areas. With hiking, biking, equestrian and paddling trails, boat ramps, fishing spots, campgrounds, a barrier-free Boundless Playground® and picnic shelters, the Cross Florida Greenway offers recreational opportunities for all interests and ages.
